- RCBO
SCENARIO 1:
SHORE POWER CONNECTION (CEE plug)
At the campsite, you can connect your motorhome to the power supply via a CEE socket.
THE REQUIREMENT:
RCBO Type 2P – This RCBO monitors both conductors (L and N) and switches them off completely in the event of a fault. This guarantees complete personal protection, even if the connection has been reversed.
Why not 1P+N? Since it is impossible to completely rule out the possibility of L and N being swapped when connecting to shore power, maximum protection can only be guaranteed by using a type 2P RCBO, as required by current guidelines.
OUR PRODUCT:
RCBO Type 2P – Item No. 2154
SCENARIO 2:
SELF-SUFFICIENT ON THE ROAD – POWER VIA SHORE POWER AND INVERTER (WITHOUT GRID PRIORITY SWITCH)
You use a 230 V supply via the inverter in the vehicle without connecting to shore power.
THE REQUIREMENT:
RCBO type 1P+N is sufficient in this case. If the inverter clearly specifies the polarity of the phase and neutral conductor, as is standard for all VOTRONIC inverters without grid priority switch, an RCBO with single-pole monitoring is sufficient.
OUR PRODUCT:
RCBO Type 1P+N – Item No. 2151
SZENARIO 3:
SHORE POWER AND INVERTER – WITH GRID PRIORITY SWITCHING (NVS)
Your system automatically decides between shore power and inverter, depending on what is currently available.
THE REQUIREMENT:
An RCBO combination module – It contains both RCBO types (1P+N and 2P) in one well-designed system. From here on, behind the inverter, the included RCBO type 1P+N is sufficient if the inverter clearly specifies the polarity of the phase and neutral conductor, as is standard with all VOTRONIC inverters with grid priority switch.
If this is not the case, an RCBO type 2P must also be installed behind the inverter or behind the grid priority switch.
OUR PRODUCT:
RCBO Combi – Item No. 2153
