Modern Table Management System
Today, modern CI-BUS on-board management systems control a wide range of devices and functions in the on-board network of more and more caravans and motorhomes. Not only lighting, battery charging or fuel level indicators, but also many on-board components such as air conditioning or heating can be controlled centrally, conveniently and safely via the CI-BUS – regardless of whether they are factory-fitted or retrofitted.

Under the leadership of the CIVD, the caravanning industry developed a common standard in 2011 with the CI-BUS, which stands for future-oriented technology and flexible solutions and is continuously being developed further.
A separate CIVD working group developed aBUS system specifically tailored to the requirements of the caravanning industry. This created the necessary conditions for the establishment of a common platform for the creation, maintenance and servicing of a standardised data bus system in the caravanning industry. The necessary requirements are described in the “CI-BUS co-operation agreement”.

The use of the caravanning industry BUS in more and more leisure vehicles is in line with the current industry trend towards increasing digitalisation. Innovative helpers such as wireless controls are increasingly finding their way into motorhomes and caravans. This means that heating or air conditioning, for example, can be easily operated via laptop, tablet or smartphone. This type of control contributes to both increased comfort and better energy efficiency.
Innovations such as the CI-BUS contribute to the future viability of the caravanning industry and continue to offer enormous potential for innovation.
